Pingy

A trip app for the whole group

Start a trip

Greetings from
the group chat.

One plan, one map,
and nobody asking
where we’re meeting.

Every group trip keeps asking the same three questions. Pingy answers them, on everyone’s phone.

  • What’s the plan? One itinerary, on one map.
  • Where are you? Shared only when you choose.
  • What do I owe you? Snap the bill, everyone taps theirs.

Solo trips are always free, and your first group trip is on us.

The iPhone app is in beta until the App Store has it. Tap iPhone beta: Apple asks you to install its free TestFlight app first, then Pingy installs from there.

Pingy's Atlanta trip plan: Friday and Saturday's stops in order, each with a handwritten note, and the distance to the next.
Every tab, running: friends live on the map, the plan, a question for Pingy, the trip chat, and a receipt split two ways.

Everyone’s here.
Nobody’s asking.

On your phone or
in any browser.

Same trip, always in sync.

One itinerary, and everyone sees it change Stops by day, in order. Whoever is organising adds one, moves one or drops the one nobody wanted — and it changes on everyone’s phone at once.
A map with everyone’s pins The day’s stops numbered on the map. Drop a pin on the place you found and the rest of the group is looking at it too.
The chat, next to the plan One thread for the trip. Send a stop straight into it instead of pasting a link and hoping somebody reads it.
Split a bill, settle up, and it’s done Put in what you paid and who it was for. Pingy keeps what each pair owes, and settling up is a tap from their row.

— see you there, Pingy

What it actually looks like

The whole trip, in your pocket.

Pingy's Plan tab for an Atlanta trip: numbered pins in three day colours on the map, and the sheet below reading 12 stops across three days, with Friday's stops and a handwritten note under each.
The whole trip, on one mapEvery day in its own colour.
Pingy's plan review, titled Before this lands: suggested stops for Friday and Saturday such as Piedmont Park, Mary Mac's Tea Room and Condesa Coffee, with Cancel and Add 12 stops buttons.
Tell Pingy your tripIt drafts the plan; you decide what lands.
Two friends' faces on the trip map, each with a live glow: one at Piedmont Park beside the day's first stop, one near Ponce City Market.
See where everyone isShare your location for an hour, or until midnight.
A scanned restaurant receipt for 69 dollars 28 split between two people: each line shows who had it, with the totals and each person's share.
Split any expenseType it in, or snap the receipt and everyone taps what they had.
The trip chat: a question about flights, a shared place card for The Flying Biscuit Cafe with a plan to grab lunch, and a reply with a photo.
One chat for the tripPlaces, photos and plans in the same thread.
Pingy answering the question is the Atlanta Botanical Garden worth visiting, with its pick on the map and a popup saying why: a 30-acre garden, canopy walk and conservatory.
Ask about the cityPingy answers, and puts its picks on the map.

From “where are we eating?” to a plan the whole group can see, in twenty seconds.

Three things people ask

Before you ask.

Does everyone need the app?

No. Anyone with the invite link can sign in and open the trip in a browser — the plan, the map, the chat and the money are all there. The phone app adds live location and notifications.

What does it cost?

Solo trips are always free, and your first group trip is on us. Guests never pay. What a group trip costs after that will be on this page before anyone is asked to pay.

Is my location always shared?

Never on its own. You choose when to share and for how long, only the people on that trip see you, and it stops by itself.

The only thing to do here

Start your first trip.

Make a trip, send the group one link, and the plan, the map, the chat and the money are all in one place. Solo trips are always free, and your first group trip is on us.
